Batman: Changes 209 - Pig Woman

Selina Kyle had been throughout a lot over the last few years, but only rarely did she ever take a break from her exciting lifestyle and take a moment to treasure the rewards of her escapades. All of the possessions she had stolen, all with a back-story behind them, were all stored in a compartment out of the sight of visitors. Only she, Holly Robinson and her close friend Maven were aware of its location. After stealing her latest treasure, she took a moment to reminisce on the artifacts before adding her latest acquisition to the collection. As she did, she noticed one particular item was slightly glowing. The gem used by the criminal magician who previously called herself Circe, the same gem that was once used to transform the dark knight into a lowly pig, was emitting a strange glow, one that Selina had not noticed before. Thinking nothing of it however, she placed the gem back in storage and locked up. She felt like she deserved a break, especially after embarrassing and then helping the dark knight in his last ordeal. She was finally ready to call it a night, but as she divested herself of her tight costume and headed to bed, she failed to notice the glow of the gem was gleaming stronger and stronger, changing the tint of the entire apartment to an unusual shade of pink.

After a long night of snoring and snorting in her sleep, the oblivious Selina Kyle woke up the following morning with a strange desire to eat. The hungry woman quickly got changed and made her breakfast, ignoring how much she ate. She hadn't eaten that much since her time spent in the body of Mary Brewer, but she did not worry. The urge she seemed to have been resisting for so many months had just vanished seemingly overnight. After performing her daily routine, it finally donned on her; not her sudden craving for food, but her work. Remembering looking at her collection of stolen goods in the previous night, she decided to take a vacation, claiming that she deserved a much needed rest as well as a little time to unwind and let herself go. This was clearly not common for Catwoman, but she was still none the wiser. After stuffing herself further, ignoring the slight bump that developed across her soft belly, only after a long nap on her couch did she realize that she had already ran out of food. She looked online, but there was a fault in her connection, and Maven was not in town. She had no choice but to head to the grocery store herself. With cart in hand, she found herself grabbing more unhealthy food than usual, but while investigating the frozen aisle, she suddenly let out a loud snort. Embarrassed by this sudden outburst, she tried to ignore it as she waited in the busy queue at the checkout point, but the snorts were becoming louder and more frequent. Her stomach then started to rumble, and to make matters worse, she was spotted by her close friend Bruce Wayne. She managed to make it out of the store with her goods before further humiliation, but Bruce was left very curious about the amount of food she bought, the constant snorting and a slight bulge just above her rear end.

Mortified beyond belief, Selina arrived back at her apartment out of breath, but as she sat on her couch, she jumped up and squealed in pain as she reached and discovered the source of the problem. She tugged her pants down slightly to reveal curly pig's tail sticking out from her rear. She involuntarily snorted as she paced back and forth in a panic, clearly distressed by her new appendage, but only realizing too late, after a glance in the mirror, she discovered that her nose was starting to press up to her face. At that moment, she finally realized what was happening to her. She was slowly turning into a pig. She knew what may be responsible for this, but her track of thought was suddenly cut off with an overwhelming groan from her stomach. She couldn't resist the urge, and as she shut down her rationality, she dug into her newly bought goods without any decency or convention. After blacking out, she regained consciousness, now more sluggish and bloated than ever, lying on the couch and rubbing the large mass that were once her toned abs. She stood up and realized that she had completely pigged out, eating everything she possibly could in the apartment, and was now no longer chubby, but full-on fat. Dazed and confused, she looked at her reflection in the mirror and turned away in disgust at the sight of an incredibly fat woman, in the nude, with her nose pressed further into her face. She tried standing on the weight scales in her bathroom, only to push them over the limit and break the device. She was about to completely freak out until she remembered her final thought before falling under the spell of her own appetite and allowing herself to change further into a human-pig hybrid.

Remembering the pink gem from her treasury, she waddled to the compartment and pulled the gem out of storage, discovering that it was now emitting a piercing glow. The gem was clearly active, but the question was how? And why now? Selina promised herself a while ago that she would never get involved with magic again, but without a clue about what was going on, she had no other choice. She had to find help. The first name to pop into her head as expected was Batman, but considering everything that she had been through with him, she knew that he would not let this ordeal go anytime soon. Her mind then turned Zatanna, the brilliant magician responsible for her previous overweight experience. There were not many other options left for her at this point, so after taking a deep breath, she picked up her phone and dialed for Zatanna. The magician answered her call and agreed to come to Selina's apartment immediately following her latest magic show in Gotham City. Unfortunately however, this left Selina with more spare time than she wanted, and despite mustering all of her strength to resist her new extreme urges, she caved in and found herself scrounging the rest of the apartment for food.

Selina groaned in agony as she finally regained consciousness, but as she felt her gluttonous form trapped in a cold steel enclosure, she realized that she was no longer inside her own apartment. It was too dark to tell where she was, but lying flat on her bare back, she was unable even to sit up, as her stomach had now grown beyond belief. Her entire frame was crushing her new pig's tail, but as she regained her senses, she could feel something else different about her body other than its enormous size. Her nose felt stretched to the sides and her nostrils felt bigger. Her ears felt like they were sticking out further than her hair, and her bottom teeth felt longer, nearly sticking out of her entire mouth. Suddenly she was blinded by the light of the night sky and stunned by faint raindrops as half of the top of the box swung open, revealing the distraught face of Zatanna the Magician, who was clearly ashamed by Selina's grotesque form. The once glamorous Catwoman was now a huge human-pig slob, and the box where she was lying turned out to be an empty dumpster. Selina was horrified at the idea of eating the contents of an entire dumpster, but considering what she had been reduced to, she knew that it was not out of the question. Zatanna managed to tip the dumpster over, rolling Selina's fat naked body into the open. Looking into the reflection of herself in the puddle beneath her, she was shocked by how pig-like she had become, but almost as an instinct, she started to slurp the puddle water until Zatanna managed to snap her out of it. As she was pulled back to her feet, Selina asked Zatanna what happened to her. The magician explained that she found her in the dumpster after harassing her neighbors and eating all their food. Wanting to inspect the source of the problem, Zatanna teleported herself and Selina back in the apartment, where Selina thoughtlessly directed her to her secret treasury and pointed her to the glowing pink gem.

Zatanna recognized the gem from the stories in her youth. She recalled her father telling her about ancient gems capable of transforming humans into animals, but until now, she believed they were merely a myth. Selina told her that she came across the gem in the hands of a magician posing under the guise of Circe. Provided with further details on the background of the magician, Zatanna also recalled a rival stage magician from her years traveling through East Europe. Where she was however, Selina could not say. All she knew however was that she was released from prison not too long ago. As Selina waited impatiently, trying her best not to give in to her appetite again, Zatanna continued to analyze and research the qualities of the mysterious gem until she discovered an outside source tampering with it. Whatever this source was, it was the reason why the gem is emitting its powers and slowly transforming Selina into a pig woman. More interestingly, Zatanna discovered tiny hints of pollen in the gem's aura. The source was a form of natural magic, something that Zatanna had not seen in a long time, but something that one particular criminal was very knowledgeable about. Selina knew exactly where she was hiding since she was given a plant to look after as a truce between them, but despite eating the plant earlier, Selina hoped that she would not know and that she would be cooperative to help her out. Because of her lack of knowledge about the effects of the rare gems, Zatanna was unable to reverse the effects, but she was at least able to conjure clothes to cover Selina's rotund figure before teleporting her and herself to the Miagani Botanical Gardens, where they hoped to obtain some information from the eco-terrorist Poison Ivy.

Once such an alluring figure to behold, now grief-stricken by the fate of her former partner in crime, Poison Ivy had let herself go and gained a lot of weight, too depressed to maintain her physical attraction. Lying on her throne among the forestry around her, she saw Zatanna and the fat pig Selina was slowly turning into cautiously approaching her. Unfortunately for Selina, Ivy knew about the fate of her plant, and oblivious to her gluttonous form, as a vine tied Selina up by the ankles and hung her upside down, Ivy's attack was halted when Zatanna told her that someone was using natural magic to transform Selina into a pig. Considering their history, Ivy did not care about Catwoman's problems, but with the torturing of her precious babies involved in the usage of natural magic, she reluctantly agreed to help. Zatanna presented her with the pink gem coated with the natural magic, and Ivy instantly recognized the plants that were forced to suffer for this active spell. The plant was a rare species found in East Europe, but she was able to detect its presence somewhere in Park Row. Ivy insisted on joining them on their search for Circe, desiring to make her pay for torturing her children, and against their better judgment, they allowed her to accompany them as they teleported to Park Row, where Ivy instantly detected the plant's scent close by. It was coming from Ivy's old flower shop called the Baudelaire, where she used to work before the accident that transformed her into the eco-terrorist today. At first, it seemed empty; only rotten plants to upset Ivy even further, but infuriated by this, she tore the entire shop apart with her vines until a secret entrance opened, where they caught Circe in the act of conjuring another spell.

The combined power of Poison Ivy and Zatanna the Magician quickly subdued Circe without a fight, but it was too late to save Selina, who had once again fallen under a trance and ran away in search for food. Not wanting to leave Selina to get into more trouble, Zatanna followed her onto the streets as Ivy interrogated Circe. Selina was already out of sight however; she was much quicker than Zatanna anticipated, but fumbled squeals from a distance confirmed her location. Zatanna followed the muted sounds to an alleyway, where she learned too late that she had just ran into an ambush. With Selina trapped in another dumpster, a group of street thugs knocked Zatanna onto the floor and winded her. They did not allow her to speak as they threatened to cash in the pig woman and make a deal with the circus, but nothing came of their threats as they were suddenly wiped out by the dark knight. Zatanna thanked Batman for his help, but as they opened the dumpster, they were horrified to find that Selina's transformation was finally complete. She was now a full-on pig. Hoping to put an end to this fiasco, they returned to the flower shop, but Ivy and Circe had disappeared along with the gem. As Zatanna looked after Selina in the flower shop, the dark knight followed Ivy's scent, and he managed to catch up to them moments later in an alleyway further down the road. Ivy planned to make sure that Circe had a taste of her own medicine, but the dark knight could not grant Ivy such power. It was an intense fight, but Batman managed to take down Ivy and put an end to her plot. He tied both Ivy and Circe up before escorting them both back to the flower shop where, using Circe's own natural magic, Zatanna managed to conjure a reversal spell.

In a flash, Selina Kyle was returned to her regular fit and agile self, although she was once again embarrassed to be revived in the nude in front of the dark knight. It turned out that, since noticing the problems she was having in the grocery store, Batman was investigating the issue himself, searching for Circe in the hope of beating a reversal spell out of her. It was only by coincidence that he came across Selina herself just in time to save her from her pig form. Although she had flashbacks of the past experiences she had of being embarrassed in a similar manner by Batman, she was much more thankful this time, believing that they were now even. Dressed back in the over-sized clothes created by Zatanna earlier, Selina headed back to her apartment, but not without an insensitive remark about Poison Ivy's fuller figure. She returned to her apartment and was grossed out by the damage that she left behind, as well as the impression she left with her neighbors. Worst of all however, she discovered that her entire treasury was emptied. After being pointed to the stolen possessions by a confused Selina, Zatanna used her magic to transport them back to their rightful owners, much to Selina's disappointment. It seemed that Catwoman was far from done with her escapades.

It seemed that the ordeal was over. Catwoman was returned to normal, even despite losing all of her stolen goods. Batman had regained the confidence that was lost during his last ordeal involving Catwoman, the magician known as Circe was sent back to prison, and Zatanna resumed her magic tour. The pink gem, now no longer active, was kept in Zatanna's possession, where she hoped to not only keep it safe, but also to study and perfect the magic contained inside. Now with the knowledge that there are other powerful gems like these scattered across the world, she hoped to one day collect them all and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. As for Poison Ivy however, she was able to escape imprisonment before the dark knight could catch up to her, now more vengeful than ever. The overweight eco-terrorist returned to her reclusive life in the botanical gardens, where she plotted her revenge. She abandoned her attempts in creating a cure for her former partner in crime, and instead intended to use her unique powers against those who opposed her. As she contemplated her first target to execute her plan, the demise of her precious plant of truce, as well as the hurtful remark about her weight, continued to reappear in her mind.
